Discover Exoplanets: The Search for Alien Worlds is made possible through NASA’s Universe of Learning. NASA’s Universe of Learning materials are based upon work supported by NASA under
award number NNX16AC65A to the Space Telescope Science Institute, working in partnership with Caltech/IPAC, Center for Astrophysics | Harvard and Smithsonian, and Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
Any opinions, findings, and conclusions, or recommendations expressed in these materials are those of the author(s) and do not necessarily reflect the views of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
Morton Mandan Public Library (MMPL) has been selected as one of 10 libraries across the nation to host the traveling NASA exhibit, Discover Exoplanets: The Search for Alien Worlds.
What IS AN
Exoplanet?
What Can I expect
from this exhibit?
Do i have to be a member of MMPL to see the exhibit?
An exoplanet is any planet beyond our solar system. Most orbit other stars, but free-floating exoplanets, called rogue planets, orbit the galactic center and are untethered to any star.
How much does it cost to view the exhibit? Where do i get tickets?
The exhibit is COMPLETELY FREE.
No tickets or reservations are necessary to view Discover Exoplanets.
The exhibit features hands-on, multimedia activities where visitors can build their own solar systems, see the most recent NASA discoveries, and learn about whether popular TV and movies are fact or fiction.
What Ages are allowed to see the Exhibit?
All ages are welcome to visit Discover Exoplanets. Be sure to check the EVENTS page to learn about upcoming activities for kids, families, and adults!
Discover Exoplanets is open to visitors from anywhere! Whether you live in Morton County, or you’re visiting from a distant town/state/planet: you’re more than welcome to explore our city, our library, and the exhibit!
Are there tour guides?
How much time will it take to walk through?
Discover Exoplanets is designed to be self-guided. You can take as much time as you need to interact with the full exhibit. Or come back for return visits!

Moon Memories
The Discovering Exoplanets Exhibit allows us to explore the
planets far beyond our galaxy.
But this Summer, MMPL is also hoping to capture and share
YOUR STORY and MEMORIES of one of the most remarkable space
missions in our nation’s history: the Apollo 11's landing on the moon.
We’re collecting the lunar recollections of those in Morton County and beyond who want to share their personal experience during the ultimate moonwalk.
Watch this page for a compilation of these MOON MEMORIES.
